MVHQ Networking Group
Tuesday, February 16th, 2010Our Passion is People. Our Sport is Volleyball.
The volleyball community in Minnesota is rich with talented players as well as incredible professionals off the court. MVHQ’s Networking Group offers players a spot on the web to reach out to others in the volleyball community. During good and bad economic times, we believe we must stand together and realize potential services, products and even human resources are standing and playing right next to us, on the court at open gym, leagues or tournaments.
If you are interested in providing your information on the site please fill out the form below. Please be sure to note by giving this information your email will be added to the monthly newsletter. Adult and Youth Volleyball Skill Chart
Monday, November 30th, 2009Our Passion is People. Our Sport is Volleyball!
Levels are an adaptation of International standards (FIVB), USA Volleyball standards and AVP standards. We take our skill ranking of players serious. Players who desire to receive a high ranking must have more than just potential. It has to be proven on the court with concrete evidence and consistency. So when self ranking, make sure to not rank yourself what you wish you were or what you use to be, but what skill level you currently play at right at this very moment.
Categorized as follows:
| Ranking |
Description for Teams or Players | |
| Elite | Open | Formally coached or may have the equivalent skill level through experience. Post Olympic players compete at this level. |
| Advance | AA | Many years of experience and have been formally coached. Players are awesome at defense and offense! |
| Advance | A | Solid all around and can defend the ball very well. Their offense is good but at times might lack solid ball placement. |
| Intermediate | BB | Hold their own. They have developed good passing skills. Most players can defend the ball well but struggle with ball control from time to time. Players can hit the ball hard but struggle blocking effectively at times. |
| Intermediate | B | Good offensive skills but are limited in ball placement and the ability to hit various types of hits. Defense can be solid but not always consistent. |
| Fundamentalist | CC |
Decent offensive skills but are very limited in various types of hits and
ball placement. Defense is not always consistent but can pick some hard hits. |
| Fundamentalist | C | Working on proper court coverage, launching a decent offense and defense is good but limited to “free ball” type balls and some harder hits. |
| Beginner | DD | Learning court coverage and proper hitting, blocking, passing, setting and serving techniques. Brand new to 5-1/6-2 rotations. |
| Newbie | D | Has a really good grasp on the general concept of volleyball with six people on the court.Does not know proper court coverage and has very little technique in hitting, blocking, passing, setting and serving |
